This year’s list which highlights Britain’s fastest-growing private companies is topped by Join Talent, a remote-first outsourced recruitment specialist founded by Katrina Hutchinson-O’Neill in 2018.

Living in the small Scottish city of Brechin, she took the plunge into self employment at the age of 40, from her kitchen table, and had previously experienced life in large companies such as Nationwide and Royal Bank of Scotland.

Her profitable company has grown its sales by 304 per cent a year to £17.5 million, and with her co-founder Kevin Blair, Hutchinson-O’Neill plans to double the size of the business in the next two years.

The mother of three wanted to become a chief executive but faced barriers.
