Travel News Every month we ask staff on one of our Frontier group camps to nominate a Volunteer of the Month. This time it was the turn of our Tanzania camp on Mafia Island, who selected Harriet Smith, a volunteer on our Tanzania Wildlife Conservation Internship. We got in contact to find out what she's been up to and hopefully a little insight into why she is our Volunteer of the Month for October!

Volunteer of the Month Frontier's volunteers have been busy bees this month on our group projects so we've rounded up the best project news from October. There's been some exciting new developments in Costa Rica and Madagascar with new butterfly and mouse lemur projects being launched, whilst over in Cambodia the team has been doing their part in reducing the impact of illegal logging activities in the Oddar Meanchey Province. You can find out more about Frontier's scientific research projects by visiting the Society for Environmental Exploration (SEE) website.

wildlife conservation Frontier staff, interns and volunteers often go on to some pretty exciting positions in the conservation and environmental sectors following their time with us. In 'Where Are They Now?', we catch up with some of these people to show you how valuable being involved in Frontier can be. Today we speak to Elise Belle about her time at Frontier HQ and her current role at Protected Areas Programme with UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre.

Where Are They Now? Too many people think that taking a gap year means you have to spend a whole year away (and a whole lot of money). However, it's just not the case! There are countless options open to you which involve short-term placements and projects (as short as 1 week) for very reasonable prices (as little as £299)! Rather than hit you with a list of all the options here, we thought we'd get you in the mood for a miniature adventure in a more abstract way, by sharing with you some of our favourite 'miniature' tilt shift videos.

This weeks photo comes from Dana Jover who recently returned from Frontier's Cambodia Orphanage project! Dana's photo captures the happiness of a lively classroom and illustrates the pleasure young children take in learning. If you think Dana's photo deserves to win Volunteer Photo of the Month in our Facebook competition, check in with FrontierOfficial at the end of the month for your chance to vote for it.
