Volunteer Photo of the Week
In order to volunteer, many people fundraise in various ways to raise the money they need to contribute towards the project they have chosen to take part in. Often, the projects that they are volunteering within require flights in order to get there, and again fundraising can help provide some or all of the funds needed. Volunteers are turning to crowdfunding as a useful and successful way to gain sums of money relatively quickly.
Many young people often worry that if they don’t take a gap year at the ‘appropriate’ time (usually before or just after studying at University), then the opportunity will have passed them by.

Congratualtions to Kat Maddams whose close-up detail of a small crab from her Madagascar project won over our Facebook followers to win November's volunteer photo of the month crown. This awesome first entry for December comes from Jo Young, who spent part of her summer on Frontier's Tanzania Teaching and Beaches project.

Tourism will always be seen by some as a necessary evil. If it’s given too much thought, it becomes clear that there will always be negative aspects to the travel industry. People have always wanted to visit new countries but as it becomes easier and cheaper to do so, more people are flocking to the smaller, once unknown or unreachable areas.

Opinions As winter sets in it’s the perfect time to start daydreaming about where in the world you’d like to travel next. Into the Wild took to the streets around London HQ to find out where peoples’ fantasy projects would take them. From 'Space' to India, there wasn't a single answer London HQ wasn't keen to go on ourselves!
